In a recent interview, the 39-year-old star spoke out about rumors that she and her NFL player husband would end their marriage, saying that she didn't talk about her private life.

AceShowbiz - Kerry Washington finally addressed rumors that she would pull the plug on her marriage to husband Nnamdi Asomugha. In an interview during the 2016 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival, which was held at the Austin Convention Center on Sunday, March 13 in Austin, the "Scandal" star debunked the divorce rumors, adding that she didn't want to talk about her personal life.
"I think - and this is something Reese Witherspoon has talked about a lot - it's a little different for me because I don't talk about my personal life," Washington explained.
Washington went on saying that she had no interest in exposing her life through social media like Twitter or Instagram, which she mainly used to promote her beloved ABC drama. "Social media has actually been great for [other celebrities'] relationships with the weeklies or the gossip sites because people say things and they say, 'That's not true! Just so you know, that's BS!' I say 'BS' because it's Sunday," she pointed out. "So I'm thinking in some ways, it's been great because people are able to maintain their voice."
The 39-year-old actress stressed that once she said she didn't talk about her personal life, she really meant it. "That means not only did I not tell you when I was getting married, it also means if somebody has rumors about what's going on in my marriage, I don't refute them, because I don't talk about my personal life," she continued.
It's no secret that Washington always wants to keep her private life out of the spotlight. She and her husband rarely make a public appearance together and Washington frequently showed up alone on the red carpet of various events.
