Warner Bros. Studios has confirmed both movies' 2017 release dates but is yet to announce the other films in the meta franchise.

AceShowbiz - For a few months now, the release dates of "Wonder Woman" and "Justice League Part One" were only speculations. Warner Bros. Studios has now made the dates official.

"Wonder Woman" will hit theaters June 23, 2017 while the first installment of "Justice League" franchise is set to arrive November 17 that year. "Wonder Woman" is currently alone on the date while "Justice League Part One" is up against Universal's "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

"Wonder Woman" will be an origin story of the female superhero. "Wonder Woman is one of the greatest superheroes out there," filmmaker Kevin Smith said. "But people don't know her origin like they know Superman's origin and Batman's origin; and so what we want to do in the film is really tell people who she is, where she comes from, and why she does what she does. We've never seen her on film before." Patty Jenkins directs the Wonder Woman film from a script written by "Pan" scribe Jason Fuchs.

"Justice League Part One" will feature such superheroes as Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman. These characters will first get an introduction in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" which premieres March 25 in the U.S.. Zack Snyder is directing and Christopher Nolan is executive producing.

The two films are part of DC's Extended Universe. Warner Bros. is yet to announce the release dates for the other films such as "The Flash" and "Aquaman", which are both expected to arrive in 2018.
