AceShowbiz - %cAdele%'s has just broken another record with her hit "Hello". Vevo announced on Monday, January 18 that the official music video for the British songbird's comeback single had reached 1 billion views on the service and become the fastest to do so.
Directed by filmmaker Xavier Dolan, the visuals was made available on Adele's Vevo channel about three months ago. %cWiz Khalifa% and %cCharlie Puth%'s "See You Again", which previously held the Vevo record, needed six months to cross the 1 billion mark last year.
This is hardly the first time the "Hello" video has broken a Vevo record. Following its release in October, it garnered 100 million plays in only five days. That's, according to a statement from YouTube, "a milestone it takes most major music videos months to achieve."
The song's parent album "25" has also been a massive success, both critically and commercially. It spent seven weeks at No. 1 on Billboard 200, three of which were with more than 1 million copies sold. Recently, it slipped to No. 2 when %cDavid Bowie%'s "Blackstar" debuted atop the chart following his death.
