The 35-year-old actor who plays Steve Trevor in the upcoming movie shares new details about the character, saying that he 'is a rogue-ish.'

AceShowbiz - As production continues on "Wonder Woman", new details about one of the movie's characters have surfaced. It's Steve Trevor himself, Chris Pine, who shared new information about the character, saying that he's "a rogue-ish."

In an interview with Toronto Sun, Chris explained his take on the character. "Steve Trevor is a rogue-ish, cynical realist who's seen the awful brutish nature of modern civilization," he revealed. "He's a worldly guy, a charming guy and it's going to be a great, fun film. There are some incredibly deep, interesting and morally relevant themes."

In the comic books, Steve is an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He first encounters Diana Prince when his plane crashes on Themyscira, the home of the Amazonian princess. Diana then helps him cure his wound and Steve eventually falls in love with her. The two then join forces in a mission to save humanity.

However, the upcoming movie may be a little bit different from the source material. According to Chris, the movie will be set during World War I, not during World War II just like in the comic books. "[It's] a period we don't see often, it's usually World War II," Chris shared.

In addition, Chris praised the work of director Patty Jenkins. "Patty is just directing the daylights out of it. It's shot beautifully feels so wonderfully period, but also has this wonderful pop sensibility," Chris said.

"Wonder Woman" reportedly centers on Diana (Gal Gadot) who becomes emissary to civilization in her home of Paradise Island in the 1920s. It also follows her journey as Steve brings her outside the island. Also Starring Robin Wright, Danny Huston and David Thewlis, the movie is slated to be released in the U.S. on June 23, 2017.
