There have been a ton of pictures of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens", but there are two characters that are noticeably missing from the publicity, Lupita Nyong'o's Maz Kanata and Andy Serkis' Leader Snoke. Now that the film has already been in theaters for several days, Disney and Lucasfilm release two close-up images of the two characters, via EW.

Before the new photos arrived, fans were just able to see some shots of Nyong'o in her performance capture make-up as Kanata and a tiny glimpse of the character in the movie's poster. There were also several snaps of Serkis wearing similar gear for the villainous leader of The First Order.

Serkis admitted this was his first time playing a motion-capture character without exactly knowing what it would look like. "When we first started working on it, he had some rough notions of how Snoke was gonna look, but it really hadn't been fully-formed and it almost came out of discussion and performance," said Serkis.

As Nyong'o and Serkis both played motion-capture characters, they worked closely together and shared many things during the production, though they didn't share any scene. "The biggest advice he gave me, that was so important to hold on to, is a motion-capture character you develop the same way as any other. You have to understand who the character is and what makes them who they are," Nyong'o said of Serkis.

The movie is directed by J.J. Abrams and brings back the likes of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill.
