Nicole Kidman Not Starring in 'Wonder Woman' After All. Will Robin Wright Take the Role?

Words are Kidman passes on the role of 'a high-ranking Amazonian warrior' due to a scheduling conflict, and now Wright is up for a role in the Amazonian princess movie.

AceShowbiz - Nicole Kidman is not likely to appear in "Wonder Woman". Following reports which first emerged last month that the "Rabbit Hole" actress was eyed to play "a high-ranking Amazonian warrior," new update suggests that Kidman has passed on the project due to a scheduling issue and Robin Wright may be considered for the role.

Variety's Justin Kroll recently posted on Twitter, "As you know Kidman's dates didn't work out so they are trying to figure out whether to just give Robin Wright that role or find another star." It was believed that Kidman would have played Diana's mother Queen Hippolyta.

Kroll noted, "Don't know what role Wright currently has but it isn't Hippolyta like others believed, it's actually another role." He added, "In fact Wright's deal for her unknown role had closed before Kidman even had an offer, so we'll just have to see what ends up happening."

"Wonder Woman" stars Gal Gadot in the lead role of the Amazonian princess. Chris Pine takes on double roles, Wonder Woman's longtime love interest Steve Trevor in the present day and Trevor's grandfather in the 1920s-set scenes.

Filming is currently underway with Patty Jenkins serving behind the lens. The DC superhero movie is slated for a U.S. release on June 23, 2017.
