Sad news comes from Michelle Dockery. The "Downton Abbey" actress is mourning the death of her fiance, John Dineen. The public relations director for a consulting firm passed away on Sunday night, December 13 from cancer. He was 34.
Dockery and Dineen started dating in 2013 after being introduced by her co-star Allen Leech. He was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer earlier this year. Dockery who celebrated her 34th birthday on Tuesday was by his side when he died at the Marymount Hospice in Cork, Ireland.
The actress plays Lady Mary Crawley on the British period drama. She cut short her promotional trip to the U.S. to fly back home to be with her ailing beau. "The family is very grateful for the support and kindness they have received but would kindly request that they are left to grieve in private," a rep says in statement.
