Sports Illustrated Model Kate Upton Cast in James Franco's 'The Disaster Artist'
Movie

The model and actress is set to join the film which sees the making of Tommy Wiseau's worst film of all time 'The Room'.

AceShowbiz - One more name is added to the cast list of James Franco-directed "The Disaster Artist". Kate Upton joins the comedy film which sees the making-of Tommy Wiseau's cult classic "The Room".

Released in 2003, "The Room" centers on a man whose fiancee cheats on him with his best friend. Wiseau who directed, produced, wrote and starred in the pic had no experience in filmmaking at that time so the shooting was chaotic and the film was often regarded as the worst film of all time. However, it developed a strong cult who called the film "so bad it's good."

Greg Sestero, who starred in the film, wrote a nonfiction book "The Disaster Artist" in 2013 with Tom Bissell. The book recalled Sestero's experience as a struggling actor, his experience filming with the eccentric Wiseau and their unlikely friendship.

Franco is directing the comedy film and will star as Wiseau. His brother Dave Franco is attached to play Sestero, starring opposite Josh Hutcherson and Seth Rogen among others. Upton's casting was first revealed by THR but her role was not mentioned.

Shooting was scheduled to start on Monday, December 7. No release date is announced yet.
