'Wonder Woman' Set Photos Confirm Major Rumors
Movie

Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and other cast and crew members were spotted filming scenes on the banks of the Thames in Southend, Essex.

AceShowbiz - While principal photography is currently underway on Warner Bros.' "Wonder Woman", new set photos have made their way online. Featuring Gal Gadot as the Amazonian princess and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, the latest set photos confirm that some parts of the film will be set during World War I.

Gadot, Pine and 150 extras were spotted filming scenes on the banks of the Thames in Southend, Essex. While previous photos show Gadot in full costume as Wonder Woman, the new photos provide a look at Diana Prince dressed in vintage clothing. She wore a blue fury coat over a grey blouse which she teamed with a matching flare skirt.

What makes fans become more certain that the movie is set in WWI was the poster with the words "Your King and country need you, enlist now." The said poster was widely used between 1914-1918 to rally soldiers for the first World War. All people on the set, who were involved in the scenes, also donned costumes which are appropriate for the time period.

"Wonder Woman" is said to center on the Amazonian Princess, who becomes emissary to civilization in her home of Paradise Island in the 1920s. Pine is rumored to play two roles in the movie. Besides portraying Wonder Woman's longtime love interest Trevor, he reportedly plays Trevor's grandfather. Directed by Patty Jenkins, "Wonder Woman" is scheduled for a release in U.S. theaters on June 23, 2017.
