Movie premieres were canceled in the wake of devastating incident that killed and injured many in Paris. "Bridge of Spies" and "Jane Got a Gun" were supposed to have red-carpet events in the French capital this coming weekend but they were called off.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Steven Spielberg was on his way to Paris when the terrorists attacked. The director just left Berlin after premiering his Cold War movie with his wife Kate Capshaw and his lead actor Tom Hanks & wife Rita Wilson.

"In light of the tragedy in Paris, we have canceled our scheduled film events. Further, we stand with the people of Paris and our thoughts go out to all those affected by these horrible events," a representative for 20th Century Fox said in a statement.

Meanwhile, Natalie Portman who lives in Paris was supposed to do a press junket in Paris on Sunday and followed it with a special screening on Monday. The actress was also supposed to do French TV appearances to talk about her film but they were all scraped.
