AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham got into Halloween spirits just days prior to the annual celebration. The two shared with their fans on Wednesday, October 28 throwback pictures showing their Halloween costumes when they were younger.

Swift posted on Instagram a black-and-white picture of her wearing teletubby costume. The "Wildest Dreams" singer showed her cute smile to the camera while toting teletubby doll. She revealed that her schoolmates thought her costume was inspired by a pregnant alien. "When you dress as the yellow teletubby for Halloween, but it's before Teletubbies got huge so all the kids at school ask you why you're dressed as a yellow pregnant alien," she captioned it.

Dunham, meanwhile, opted to post a series of throwback pictures showing her Halloween costumes on her website Lenny Letter. The "Girls" actress wrote on her website, "I have spent 29 years failing at Halloween. I have never been cooed at, kissed, or celebrated for my wit and style on Halloween. In fact, each Halloween has been more demoralizing than the last."

The first picture was a costume she wore when she was 4. She looked cute in a pink costume with green tail. However, she didn't appear to be happy while her dad gave her a piggyback ride. Alongside the picture, she wrote, "My dad sewed this mer-tail all by himself, which is incredibly sweet, but the fact that the tail emerged from my butt rather than wrapping around my legs left a lot of people confused." On the other hand, she wasn't really proud of her leopard costume because "everything about this look felt stupid and basic and sad."

Of her costume as a secretary, Dunham said she looked like "a teensy alcoholic divorcee to be a good candidate for candy." In 1993, Dunham appeared as a Medusa. She wrote that her mom creatively super-glued some plastic snakes to her leotard to make hair of snakes.

Another picture saw young Dunham as a "fancy lady." She admitted she was crying wearing that costume because she was told that "fancy lady isn't even a real costume." When she was a teenager, she wore a blue mermaid costume "made of itchy sparkly rayon." For her mermaid look, she joked, "I was pretty sure this look would lead to the loss of my virginity, but mermaids don't have vaginas."
