A 15-second preview of the track was first shared on Twitter by a fan who participated in a scavenger hunt launched by the singer in New York City.

AceShowbiz - Demi Lovato sends her fans on scavenger hunts in anticipation of her new album, "Confident". The singer announced on Monday, September 29 that she's hiding "Confident boxes" containing previews of new songs from the LP in various locations across the country over the next week and asked fans to find them.
On the same day, she also shared the first clue directing Lovatics in New York City to the Tribeca neighborhood. A fan who goes by Matt Case on Twitter found the first hidden box and shared with the world a snippet of "Stone Cold".

"The first #findconfident box was found last night by @matthewjcase. Here is a preview of stone cold!" Demi tweeted alongside a 15-second video showing her belting out the ballad, "I was your ember but now she's your shade of gold stone/ Cold, baby."

"Confident" is coming out on October 16. It's been preceded by "Cool for the Summer" and the title track "Confident". A music video for the latter song is underway and is set to feature appearance from "Furious 7" star Michelle Rodriguez.
