Jim Carrey broke his silence after his on-and-off girlfriend, Cathriona White, was found dead of apparent suicide. "I am shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my sweet Cathriona," the 53-year-old actor said in a statement.
"She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled. My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt."
White's body was discovered at her home in Sherman Oaks, California on Monday night, September 28. According initial findings by police, she might die of drug overdose. She reportedly left a note that hinted at her recent breakup with Carrey. She was 28.
