20th Century Fox has released a new trailer for "Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip", giving a look at the three little chipmunks engaging in an adventure to abort an event that can change their lives. The trailer also includes numerous never-before-seen footage as it introduces some new characters.

Dave (Jason Lee), the chipmunk's father figure, is finding a right woman and will get married so soon. He introduces his girlfriend Samantha to the chipmunk trio. "Any girlfriend of yours is a girlfriend of ours," Simon says to Dave. Samantha brings his son, who turns out to be an intimidating friend for Alvin and his buddies.

Afraid of losing Dave, the trio tries to find a way to prevent the proposal. "We have to get to Miami and stop the proposal," Alvin says. The two-minute video then continues highlighting ridiculous things the chipmunks do during their trip to Miami. They have to accomplish the mission in order to save themselves not only from losing Dave but possibly from gaining a terrible stepbrother.

Justin Long, Jesse McCartney and Matthew Gray Gubler return to voice Alvin, Theodore and Simon respectively. Directed by Walt Becker, "The Road Chip" will arrive in U.S. theaters on December 12.
