Ryan Adams has been teasing an album featuring his covers of songs from Taylor Swift's "1989" in the past month, and now he's already very close to sharing it with everyone. The musician revealed via Twitter on Thursday, September 17 that he's releasing his own "1989" on Monday, September 21.
Adams also posted his forthcoming project's official cover art when tweeting the announcement. Shortly after, Swift expressed her excitement as she promoted the record through her own Twitter account. "Ryan's music helped shape my songwriting. This is surreal and dreamlike. Countdown to #RyanAdams1989 @TheRyanAdams," she wrote.

Later on Thursday, Adams gave Zane Lowe the green light to premiere his cover of "Bad Blood" on the Beats 1 radio show. He turns Swift's upbeat pop tune into a sad song as he shows off his raw vocals over slow-tempo, painful-sounding instrumentals.
The 40-year-old singer/songwriter/producer's "1989", now available for pre-order, will come roughly a year after Swift's own LP arrived. The original spent multiple weeks atop Billboard 200 and has spawned three No. 1 singles on Billboard Hot 100, including "Bad Blood", "Blank Space" and "Shake It Off".
