Legendary and Universal Pictures have released the first clip from Guillermo del Toro's horror flick "Crimson Peak". Mia Wasikowska stars as an author who chooses to be the wife of a mysterious outsider only to live in a secluded haunted mansion known as Allerdale Hall.

After married to Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), Edith Cushing (Wasikowska) has to share the creepy mansion with his husband's sister Lady Lucille Sharpe (Jessica Chastain). As Edith moves into the house, she gets a cold welcome from Lucille. Edith requests a house key for herself, but Lucille refuses to give the key. She warns Edith that the house is unsafe for a new resident.

"I just need a proper welcome, that's all. From now on, I want this house to contain nothing but friendship and love and warmth," Edith says. Thomas then asks Edith to take a shower. "The pipes will run red at first because of the clay," he says. "But soon the water will clear." What Thomas says can be an indication that the film will include large amount of blood.

The film also features Charlie Hunnam as Dr. Alan McMichael, a "quiet, shy, thoughtful kind of stoic, taciturn, very learned guy who is madly in love" with Edith. Jim Beaver, Leslie Hope, Doug Jones, Burn Gorman, Javier Botet and Emily Coutts also star in the film which will be released in the U.S. on October 16.
