Dakota Johnson Teases 'Different Spin' for 'Fifty Shades Darker'
Movie

The leading actress of the erotic movie shared her feeling of teaming up with a new director and seemingly hinted that there would be a 'different spin' for the upcoming movie.

AceShowbiz - "Fifty Shades of Grey" sequel, "Fifty Shades Darker", has not started its production yet. What makes the sequel move slowly is that the "Fifty Shades of Grey" director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, decided to leave the franchise and not to return for the second movie. Speaking to Empire, Dakota Johnson recently opened up about her feeling of collaborating with a new director and seemingly suggested what the sequel would be like with the new director.

James Foley, who directed some of "House of Cards" episodes, recently signed a deal to direct the sequel. Johnson admitted that she was afraid at the beginning, but she was grateful later to know that it was Foley who would replace Taylor-Johnson. "It's quite exciting," she said of teaming up with Foley.

"There was a moment of being afraid, because I didn't know what it was going to be like. I had an experience with Sam and then that all went away," she added. "Now I'm excited. I think James is a talented filmmaker. How often do you get to reconvene with the same people and have a different spin?"

With a new director in place and Johnson delivering idea about "different spin," people started to speculate that the sequel might feature a different tone and style. However, Johnson declined to reveal much about the upcoming movie. "You'll just have to see when the movie comes out...," she said.

Niall Leonard, the husband of the books' author E.L. James, writes the script with Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and James tapped as producers. The second installment of "Fifty Shades" movie series is slated for a U.S. release on February 10, 2017.
