The 'Blank Space' hitmaker receives a congratulatory banner for having 16 sold-out performances, the most for any artist in the history of Staples Center.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift was surprised by Kobe Bryant at her tour stop at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on August 21. The Lakers star took the stage and presented her with a "Most Sold Out Performances" banner in front of thousands of her fans.

The Friday night concert was the first of her sold-out "1989" tour shows at the Staples Center, but it was her 12th at the venue overall. When the run is over, she will have 16 sold-out performances, the most for any artist in the venue's history.

"Sixteen is a very special number here in Los Angeles because 16 is the same amount of championships that we have as a Lakers franchise," Bryant allegedly told the crowd. "To celebrate those championships, we do something very special. We hang banners. That's what we do."

"The screams you hear from an LA crowd when Kobe walks out onstage are so deafening you think you may have permanent hearing loss. But it was SO WORTH IT," she wrote on Instagram. "The banners up at Staples Center right now because WHAT IS LIFE EVEN."

Another special guest during the concert was OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. Meanwhile, among celebrity sightings were Mark Wahlberg, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Mariska Hargitay, and Joe Jonas. "Shakin it out with @taylorswift13," Ferguson uploaded a selfie with the singer.

"Tonight @kobebryant surprised me with a banner in @STAPLESCenter for the most sold out shows. You did that. Love you," Taylor tweeted. "It was a beautiful night in Los Angeles. Thank you @kobebryant, Ryan Tedder @OneRepublic, @STAPLESCenter & the fans!" The NBA player replied, "My pleasure @taylorswift13 Keep breaking records and changing lives #1989TourLA ."

Staples Center captured the moment and uploaded a video on Instagram as well. "Congrats on record setting 16 sold out shows @taylorswift, most by any artist in the history of STAPLES Center! For that we raise a banner in your honor! #1989TourLA," the venue wrote.
