"The Martian" releases a new trailer ahead of the U.S. premiere on October 2. It features some new footage including one which sees Matt Damon's Mark Watney, who is left alone on Mars following a mission gone wrong, proudly showing off his plant. "I am the greatest botanist on this planet," so he says.
Adapted from Andy Weir's novel, the science fiction movie follows a lone man who must figure out how to survive long enough to return to Earth. Directed by Scott Ridley, the feature film will debut at Toronto International Film Festival before hitting the North American theaters.
Damon is joined in the cast ensemble by Jessica Chastain, Kate Mara, Michael Pena, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sean Bean, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, and Donald Glover.
