Milles Teller and Director Josh Trank Almost Engaged in Physical Fight on 'Fantastic Four' Set

The actor who portrays Mr. Fantastic almost got into a fistfight with the director during the filming of 'Fantastic Four' reboot because the director was abusive and insulting to the crew and cast.

AceShowbiz - "The Fantastic Four" being a total flop at the box office is not without any strong reason. There were several problems during the production of the film, including director Josh Trank's strange behavior on set. New printed edition of Entertainment Weekly provides more details, revealing that the director almost got into a fistfight with Miles Teller.

It is a bit odd to hear that Trank had a bad off-screen relationship with Teller as he was one of the actors Trank really wanted to play Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic. The studio actually didn't want Teller to be the leading actor in the movie, but Trank insisted to cast him.

"On set, Trank was said to be abusive and insulting to the crew and cast. The studio hadn't wanted 'Whiplash' star Teller, but Trank had fought for him. Then he ended up almost fighting Teller, who has a reputation for sarcasm and recalcitrance while working," reads the article in EW. "At one point, the conflict nearly became physical, with Trank and Teller chest to chest, daring each other to throw the first punch. Neither did."

On the other hand, Trank reportedly did not want Kate Mara to star as Sue Storm, but Fox overruled him on that decision. It seemed like Trank was reluctant to accept the decision as he vented all of his frustration and disappointment on Mara while directing her.

The reboot to "Fantastic Four" was slammed by critics and earned C- CinemaScore. It became a complete failure for Marvel, takin in $25.7 million at the box office in its opening weekend.
