For the first time in his career, The Weeknd has a No. 1 single on Billboard Hot 100. The Canadian singer's latest hit "Can't Feel My Face" from his upcoming album has just taken the chart's top slot, rising from last week's No. 2.
The 25-year-old crooner, who was born Abel Tesfaye, expressed his excitement in a Twitter post he sent out upon learning the news. "NUMBER 1 SONG IN THE COUNTRY XO !" he wrote on Monday, August 10. He also said in a statement to Billboard, "It's so hard to imagine that we've come this far, but it seems all the hard work has paid off."

"I'm excited for the world to hear the full body of work and experience the vision," the singer continued, referring to the track's parent album "Beauty Behind the Madness" which is due out on August 28. "It's an honor to be a part of such a great team like Republic Records and to collaborate and learn from such a seasoned producer [and writer] like Max Martin."
"Can't Feel My Face" finally topped Hot 100 after spending three weeks at No. 2. It dethroned OMI's "Cheerleader" which fell to No. 2 after ruling the chart for four weeks.
Another highlight from this week's Hot 100 came from One Direction's surprise single "Drag Me Down" which arrived at No. 3, marking the highest debut on the list in 2015.
