Zayn Malik and his fiancee, Perrie Edwards, have ended their engagement. Rumor has it, it was the former One Direction member who called it off. The breakup reportedly happened two weeks ago and it left the Little Mix singer "devastated."
"She's been putting on a brave face, as Little Mix have had promotion to do, but she's obviously devastated," a source told PEOPLE. "Perrie's being supported by her bandmates, but she's really in pieces about this."
The couple, both 22, got engaged in August 2013. Both haven't released an official statement regarding the supposed split but Edwards ditched her engagement ring in a picture posted on Instagram by her bandmate Jesy Nelson on Monday, August 3.
Earlier this year, Malik vehemently denied rumor that he cheated on Edwards during 1D's world tour. "I'm 22 years old ... I love a girl named Perrie Edwards. And there's a lot of jealous f**ks in this world I'm sorry for what it looks like x," he tweeted back then.
The singer, who has a tattoo of Edwards' face on his upper arm, left One Direction shortly afterward. "He wanted to go and spend some time with his family and missus," former bandmate Liam Payne explained his departure. Malik is currently pursuing a solo career.
