Sean Penn made an awkward reunion with his ex-girlfriend Charlize Theron on Wednesday, July 29, two months after their split. The former lovers were in Cape Town, South Africa to reshoot their upcoming movie "The Last Face". Both of them looked equally unimpressed.
In some photos obtained by Mail Online, Sean and Charlize looked tense whenever they were near each other. The "Milk" actor looked awkward while directing his ex's act. At one point, he was seen opening a car's door for Charlize.
Sean wore a black bomber jacket and pants. Charlize, meanwhile, donned a grey suit with a white shirt. Her hair was styled in low ponytail. He was later seen puffing on a cigarette at one stage as he and Charlize walked away from each other in opposite directions.
Reports about Sean and Charlize's split emerged in mid-June. At that time, a source told Us Weekly that the "Mad Max: Fury Road" actress was the one who initiated the breakup. They called off their engagement following their appearance at Cannes Film Festival back in May.
The exes have since "stayed under separate roofs" with Charlize and her adopted son staying at their Hollywood home while Sean remained at his Malibu mansion, which he had put up for sale but recently pulled off the market.
