The crossover event, which will be across two episodes, was initially eyed for this fall but due to logistics issue is now scheduled for spring 2016.

AceShowbiz - The supernatural and science are two contrasting theories, but FOX has apparently found a way to make them co-exist. The network is reportedly planning a crossover event between "Sleepy Hollow" and "Bones" for this spring.

The crossover is planned to consist of two episodes, one on each show. Details of the story and which characters who will appear in each episode are not known yet, but showrunners reportedly have had an idea that organically merges the vastly different "Bones" and "Sleepy" universes.

The crossover was initially planned to come early this fall, but due to logistics issue it is now scheduled for the spring. The network has not commented on the news.

In other "Sleepy Hollow" news, "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed has been added as a series regular for upcoming season 3 to play Betsy Ross. The character, which was mentioned in season 1 and 2 as Ichabod's (Tom Mison) former flame, is described as sexy with an unsuspecting physical prowess.

She's the famous seamstress known and loved for sewing the nation's first flag by day, but by night she's a dynamic colonial insider, a secret operative within George Washington's mysterious ring of spies.

Co-creator/EP Len Wiseman tells The Hollywood Reporter, "We are all very excited to welcome Nikki Reed into the world of 'Sleepy Hollow'. Nikki's the perfect choice to bring a smart and sexy edge to our show's twisted version of American icon, Betsy Ross."

Both "Sleepy Hollow" and "Bones" return with the new seasons Thursday, October 1.
