After several production delays and pushed release dates, sci-fi movie "Pacific Rim 2" finally takes a big step forward. According to director Guillermo del Toro, the "Pacific Rim" sequel will begin filming in November.

del Toro revealed that things were quickly moving forward with the sequel. He also teased that he and his team had planned a great storyline with epic battle at the end of the movie. "We are deep into designing the robots, the Kaijus...having fun planning the battles. We have an epic battle at the end of this that we started to design a couple of weeks ago," del Toro said. "We've been up for about three or four months designing, and we start shooting in November," he added.

As of now, the plot details are still scarce. There have been speculations which say that the upcoming movie will take place a few years after the events of the first film and will focus more on the Kaiju and the alternate dimensions from which they come. It means that they will possibly find a way to come back to Earth and once again there will be a war against these monsters.

The movie has no star attached to the cast, but fans can expect the return of some familiar faces. del Toro hinted that the movie might bring back Charlie Day as Dr. Newton Geiszler and Burn Gorman as Gottlieb. However, there is no word about bringing back Jaeger pilots like Charlie Hunnam's Raleigh Beckett and Rinko Kikuchi's Mako Mori.

"Pacific Rim 2" is scheduled to be released in the U.S. on August 4, 2017.
