Star Seth Gabel says that the show 'keeps going and going deeper down the rabbit hole' in season 3.

AceShowbiz - "Salem" had some good news for loyal viewers during its panel at Comic-Con International: San Diego on Saturday, July 11. The cast and creative team behind the show revealed that WGN America picked up a third season of the supernatural thriller.

Marking the first original scripted drama on the cable channel, "Salem" ended its second season on June 28 with an average of 1.1 million total viewers and 545,000 in adults 18-49 on Sundays, with seven days of delayed viewing.

Production on the third season will begin later this year in Shreveport, La. for a 2016 premiere. Stopping by the Entertainment Weekly Lounge at Comic-Con with his other cast members, star Seth Gabel teased a crazier season 3.

"What's so exciting about a third season, what I love about this show is it keeps going and going deeper down the rabbit hole," Gabel claimed. "It's not something where's its like a procedural where it resets itself every week. This just means we're going to be able to go even further than we did before.... If you saw how crazy season 2 was, we're going to get even more so."
