MTV's 'Scream' to Make Major Revelation About the Masked Killer in Season One
TV

In addition to promising 'satisfying answers at the end of each season,' the newly launched horror series will uncover the characters' dark secrets.

AceShowbiz - The "Scream" TV series may not reveal the identity of the serial killer that soon, but fans can get a hint about the person underneath the Ghostface mask by the end of season 1. Executive producer Jaime Paglia tells E! News, "I can promise that there will be a major revelation about the killer's identity by the end of season one."

He adds, "So we will have major revelations by the end of the season; we're not going to string the audience along. But the plan is, if we are fortunate enough to have a second season, we will be following whoever is left alive by the end of season one into season two."

Executive producer Jill Blotevogel goes on sharing that he had in his mind who the killer is since the beginning. "When I first wrote [the pilot episode], I had ideas on who I wanted the killer to be," he says. "But I wrote it leaving a lot of wiggle room. And as we got deeper into breaking the whole series, we got things cleared with the powers that be. So yes I definitely knew who I wanted from the start and it's going to be good. And it's going to take a while before you find out."

Making each episode more appealing, Blotevogel says that they're going to reveal each character's dark secret. "We're going to try and give you satisfying answers at the end of each season, but what we're trying to dig into with this show is that every character, whether they are the killer or not, they all have secrets, they all lie, they do bad deeds," he teases. "We're digging into everyone, so it's not so much of a whodunit as much as getting to know and love these characters and praying they're not doing these terrible things."

Cast member John Karna chimes in, "No one has a completely clean past. No one has it completely straight. You'll see that as the show goes on, everyone has secrets, everyone is lying. So don't expect to have it all figured out at the start."

"Scream" returns with its second episode Tuesday, July 7 at 10 P.M. on MTV.
