MTV continues teasing viewers with sneak peeks at its new series "Scream" just days leading to its premiere. The latest preview gives a look at the first eight minutes highlighting Bella Thorne's character.

The former "Shake It Up" star plays Nina Patterson, a sexy teen who gets stalked in her own home. She dips into the hot tub when a severed head is thrown into the pool. Panicked, she tries to call 911 but fails, before she is murdered by the masked killer.

Based on the slasher film franchise created by Kevin Williamson and Wes Craven, "Scream" TV series "kicks off when entitled Lakewood High teen Nina is murdered in an apparent crime of passion. The slaying exposes the inner-workings of the town's complex social hierarchy."

"The town's medical examiner, Maggie (Tracy Middendorf), works with Sheriff Clark (Jason Wiles), to solve the murder and determine if it's connected to a crime spree from the town's dark past - a killing spree committed by a previous generation's 'bullying victim' Brandon James."

The horror thriller follows shy popular girl Emma, artsy loner Audrey (Bex Taylor-Klaus), computer geek Noah (John Karna), all-American athlete Will (Connor Weil), ferocious socialite Brooke (Carlson Young), and mysterious new kid Kieran (Amadeus Serafini).

The show will feature a new mask which is different from the one in the movies. "The [original] mask is so iconic. If you were to have that mask in a television series, but you weren't following any of the characters [from the original], I believe that would be misleading the audience," executive producer Jaime Paglia previously explained their decision to go for a fresh new look.

The new series premieres Tuesday, June 30 at 10/9c on MTV.
