Shia LaBeouf Hospitalized After Sustaining Head Injury on 'American Honey' Set

The 29-year-old actor reportedly received 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head and finger after a mishap happened during a filming in North Dakota on early Wednesday.

AceShowbiz - Shia LaBeouf was rushed to a hospital in North Dakota on early Wednesday, June 24 after he sustained head injury on the set of his new movie "American Honey", TMZ reports. Shia has since been released after receiving 20 stitches and 13 staples to his head and finger.

Sources tell the site that the 29-year-old actor was supposed to put his head through a glass window in one scene, but something went wrong and he cut the left side of his head and his right index finger. He was taken to a nearby hospital and sent home after receiving treatment. He is scheduled to return filming on Thursday.

A rep for the "Transformers" actor tells the site, "Shia LaBeouf sustained minimal injuries late last night on the set of his current film, 'American Honey.' As protocol, production sought out medical attention and Shia received stitches on his hand and for a laceration on his head. He is due back on set [Thursday]."

Shia stars in "American Honey" along with Arielle Holmes and McCaul Lombardi. Directed by British filmmaker Andrea Arnold, the movie is about a teenage girl who joins a travelling magazine sales crew across the Midwest.
