Appearing as a guest in the final week of 'Late Show with David Letterman', Hanks teaches the host how to use a selfie stick and tells him why he has to have one.

AceShowbiz - As the final day of "Late Show with David Letterman" is approaching, Tom Hanks was apparently eager to capture his last moment on the show. In the Monday, May 18 episode of the show, Hanks brought a selfie stick and taught David Letterman how to use it.
"Hey, can I get a selfie?" the 58-year-old asked Letterman as he took his selfie stick from pocket. The 68-year-old host moved back at first but then got curious as he picked the stick. "Wait a minute. What is this?" Letterman said before playfully hitting the blue stick to his desk.
Hanks explained what the blue stick was and what it was for. He then jokingly said, "They sell these all over Florence, which was the birthplace of the Renaissance."
The Oscar winner took some time to set his phone to the stick as the cable was seen slightly loose. "I realize that a huge amount of computer space is taken up with such thing - selfies of ourselves," he explained to the veteran comedian while setting his selfie stick.
After some minutes of struggle, the Oscar winner took a picture of him with the host with a signature set of the show in the background. "In a couple of weeks when you head down to, I'm just gonna guess what you gonna be up to, two words - space cam," the actor joked about Letterman's limited knowledge about selfie stick.
"You know what that is, Tom? It gives the impression...it's almost like someone else has taken the picture for you," Letterman commented on the selfie stick. "Which will work for you Dave, because that will mean you've been on vacation with a friend," Hanks jokingly replied.
Tom Hanks was among the guests announced by CBS to appear in the final week of "Late Show". His latest visit marked his 60th appearance on the show.
