Movie

'Jackie' is announced to follow the widow of President John. F. Kennedy during the first four days after his assassination.

AceShowbiz - Natalie Portman is tapped for a new Kennedy movie to be directed by Pablo Larrain ("No"). The Oscar winner is tapped to play Jackie Kennedy in a film which covers the first four days in the First Lady's life after the assassination of her husband, President John. F. Kennedy.

" 'Jackie' talks about the days when Jackie Kennedy becomes an icon but has lost everything," Wild Bunch's Vincent Maraval told Variety. Darren Aronofsky who previously directed Portman in Oscar-nominated "Black Swan" will serve as a producer. "It's the Black Swan team reunited for Pablo Larrain," Maraval said.

Natalie Portman was last seen as Jane Foster in 2013's "Thor: The Dark World". This year she will be seen in theaters in Terrence Malick's "Knight of Cups", western flick "Jane Got a Gun", and her directorial debut "A Tale of Love and Darkness". She is attached to play Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in "On the Basis of Sex".

In playing Jackie Kennedy in the biopic which will start production late this year, Portman joins Katie Holmes who portrayed the First Lady in 2011 miniseries "The Kennedys", Jaclyn Smith in a 1981 TV movie, and Jacqueline Bisset in 1978 drama "The Greek Tycoon".
