ABC Renews Tim Allen's 'Last Man Standing' for Season 5

Co-executive producer Matt Berry has earlier been tapped to replace Tim Doyle as showrunner for the next installment of the sitcom.

AceShowbiz - "Last Man Standing" is here to stay. ABC has ordered a fifth season of the multi-camera comedy starring Tim Allen. The upcoming season will likely be paired with Ken Jeong's upcoming comedy series "Dr. Ken" on Fridays.

Ahead of the renewal, ABC signed a deal with co-executive producer Matt Berry to serve as executive producer and showrunner for season 5. He's replacing Tim Doyle, who left the post after three years to pursue other opportunities.

"Last Man Standing" has been a solid performer for ABC on Fridays at 8 P.M. It joins other comedies at ABC, including "The Goldbergs", "The Middle", "Modern Family", "Fresh Off the Boat", "Black-ish" and "Galavant", which will return next season.
