Floyd was hit with $20 million defamation lawsuit filed by Jossie after he reportedly shared wrong information about her while speaking in last week's interview with Katie Couric.

AceShowbiz - Floyd Mayweather, Jr. was hit with defamation lawsuit filed by his ex-girlfriend Jossie Harris on Tuesday, May 5. The mother of three sought for $20 million in damages after the boxing great allegedly lied in a recent interview with Yahoo's Katie Couric about her being on drugs in the morning of a 2010 domestic violent incident.

Floyd appeared in the interview with Yahoo ahead of his big fight with Manny Pacquiao. During the interview, he and the host discussed the violent incident that involved Jossie. "Did I kick, stomp and beat someone? No, that didn't happen," Floyd told Katie. "Did I restrain a woman that was on drugs? Yes, I did. So if they say that's domestic violence, then, you know what? I'm guilty. I'm guilty of restraining someone."

In the lawsuit Jossie filed in Los Angeles superior Court, she told different version of the September 9, 2010 incident. According to the file, Floyd broke into her house at around 5 A.M. and attacked her in front of their son. She noted that Floyd began to "viciously beat her - punching, striking, dragging and tossing her around the house."

"Mayweather knowingly and maliciously lied about his beating of Harris, disclaiming any responsibility for the attack and Harris' resulting serious injuries," so the statement in the suit read. "Instead, Mayweather pointed his finger at Harris, labeling her as a drug abuser and an aggressor who the world-class boxer had to 'restrain.' "

Still according to the suit, Floyd's false statements about Jossie "were knowingly fabricated in order to hype Mayweather's upcoming fight with Pacquiao, to avoid bad press by deflecting responsibility for beating the mother of his children."
