Simon Kinberg: Reed Richards' Powers Are Not Altered in 'Fantastic Four' Reboot
Movie

Simon Kinberg clarifies confusion regarding Mr. Fantastic's superpowers, insisting that the superhero will still stretch in the rebooted movie.

AceShowbiz - Simon Kinberg insists Reed Richards will stretch in "The Fantastic Four" reboot despite internet chatters suggesting that he won't. The confusion arises after a character biography notes that Miles Teller's Mr. Fantastic has an ability to "warp the space around him and appear to stretch his body into impossible forms and to incredible lengths."

"I think it was confusing," the producer/writer agreed to HitFix. "I was a little confused by it myself. The intent was to try to explain the power with some sort of scientific explanation, but as you pointed out, most of his powers defy what we know about physics." He added, "The upshot of it is that he stretches in his movie. That is his power. That's the simplest explanation."

Directed by Josh Trank, the superhero remake will arrive in the United States on August 7. Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, and Jamie Bell Johnny Storm (Human Torch), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), and Ben Grimm (The Thing) respectively, while Toby Kebbell is cast as Dr. Doom.
