Pot web series "High Maintenance" is heading to television. HBO has ordered six new episodes of the critically-acclaimed online comedy which originally debuted on Vimeo in November 2012.

" 'High Maintenance' has proven to be one of today's most highly acclaimed online comedies," said HBO president of programming Michael Lombardo. "We are thrilled to bring this sophisticated and clever series to our HBO audience."

The comedy follows a Brooklyn pot dealer (played by Ben Sinclair) and an eccentric group of clients. It is created by Sinclair and his wife Katja Blichfeld, who also executive produce the series with Russell Gregory. The duo additionally wrote and directed most of the already existing episodes.

"We have been growing this show organically for three years now, and we are elated to bring it into full maturity at HBO, the gold standard of both online and televised entertainment," Blichfeld and Sinclair said in a statement.

In addition to the six new episodes, HBO will make the first 19 episodes available later this year on HBO, HBO NOW and HBO GO.

"High Maintenance" won a WGA Award for original short-form new media earlier this year. Notable actors who have appeared on the show include Dan Stevens as a cross-dressing screenwriter in the webisode "Rachel" and Hannibal Buress as a comedian in the webisode "Jonathan".
