Kevin Feige Denies Captain Marvel Cameo in 'Avengers 2', Teases Secret Female Character
Movie

The movie's producer Feige says Carol Danvers will not be introduced in 'Avengers: Age of Ultron', but an instructor to young Black Widow will make appearance.

AceShowbiz - Speculations surrounding "Avengers: Age of Ultron" are addressed ahead of the movie's North American release on May 1. Producer Kevin Feige especially debunks rumor that Carol Danvers or Captain Marvel will be introduced in "The Avengers" sequel.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Feige does tease that the second "Avengers" movie will have a secret female character. "It's not a big deal. But it's a good character," the producer says.

While no other details are available, it's revealed that a mentor to young Black Widow will appear in the flick and she is played by either Linda Cardellini or Julie Delpy. It's promised to be a "powerful moment in the history of Scarlett Johansson's character."

Director Joss Whedon, meanwhile, says there will be no post-credit scene in "Avengers 2". He explains, "There is nothing at the very end. And that's not a fake-out. We want people to know so they don't sit there for 10 minutes and then go: 'Son of a b*tch! I'll kill them!' "

However, it will have a short, epilogue-like scene that pops up shortly after the credits start. "There will be a tag," Feige says. "But there's not a post-post-credit scene."

"It didn't seem to lend itself in the same way, and we wanted to be true to what felt right," Whedon explains. "The first rule of making a sequel is take the best moments and do something else. Don't do the Indiana Jones gun trick again differently. Just go somewhere else. Don't try to hit the same highs, because people will sense it."

After "Age of Ultron", Whedon will hand over the reins for "Avengers: Infinity War Part I" (May 2018) and "Avengers: Infinity War Part II" (May 2019). Marvel officially announces Anthony and Joe Russo will helm the two movies.
