The Detroit rapper made a contribution to the soundtrack after he decided to exit the Antoine Fuqua film back in 2012.

AceShowbiz - Eminem was originally attached to play the lead in Antoine Fuqua's boxing drama "Southpaw". Although he dropped out of the project, the rapper remains a part of the film as he has made a contribution to its soundtrack.

The song he recorded for the movie was then previewed in a trailer debuted on Friday, March 27. Em tweeted a link to the trailer and wrote, "Sneak peek of some new stuff I've been working on in the @SouthPawMovie trailer. World premiere!"

A snippet of the yet-to-be titled track can be heard towards the end of the two-and-a-half-minute video showing Jake Gyllenhaal as a boxer on a downward spiral who's trying to rebuild his career and regain custody of his young daughter after a tragedy.

Eminem decided to leave "Southpaw" in 2012. "He's focusing on his music right now, so while he's doing that, while he's in that space, he wanted to put this on hold for the time being," his rep said at that time. The film is now set to be released in the U.S. on July 31.

This is not Em's first time to have his song featured in a movie. Most recently, his collaboration with Sia Furler called "Guts Over Fear" was used in another Antoine Fuqua film "The Equalizer".
