Announcing her return to Las Vegas stage through a representative, the singer promises 'there will be high, happy notes.'

AceShowbiz - Celine Dion is resuming her postponed Las Vegas residency. The singer has, through a representative, confirmed that she will resume her residency at Caesars Palace Las Vegas in late August this year with a new act. Other details of her rescheduled performance are not shared though.

Dion announced last year that she took an indefinite leave from the stage to take care of her husband, Rene Angelil, who had been diagnosed with cancer. In an announcement on her official website, she revealed decision to postpone all of her show business activities indefinitely, in order to focus her attention on Rene due to health issues.

"I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband's healing, and to do so, it's important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children," Dion said at that time. Following the announcement, fellow singers Mariah Carey and Adele were eyed as her replacements to perform at the legendary venue.

Speaking to PEOPLE on her resumed residency, Dion promised, "Every night is a new show ... I promise there will be high, happy notes." She added, "It's very touching."
