Dan Harmon Thinks Yahoo Will Support 'Community' Movie

The series creator doesn't give a definite answer when asked about a possible big-screen adaptation of the cult comedy, but says that Yahoo seems to be naive enough to support the film.

AceShowbiz - Dan Harmon addressed long-running rumors about a "Community" movie at the show's SXSW panel dubbed "Greendale School Dance" party on Sunday, March 15. The series creator suggested that the plan's still on the table and Yahoo might support it.

"Yahoo seems down for just about anything," Harmon said without giving a definite answer. "I don't know why they'd turn their nose up to a movie about a low-rated show. They seem to be very naive."

Yahoo picked up the show, which was canceled by NBC in March 2014, for a sixth season to debut March 17 on Yahoo! Screen. Joel McHale, who attended the SXSW panel with co-stars Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, Ken Jeong, Paget Brewster and Keith David as well as exec producer Chris McKenna, gushed, "This is why I fight for the show. I know it's the best show on television."

Of how the show would be different after moving to Yahoo, Brie said, "It's been a difficult question to answer from our perspective because there's not a huge crazy difference." She added though, "Dan's weirdness, it's just able to exist more. That's more of the difference. In the smaller moments, when someone's having a rant, that rant can live a little bit longer."
