Legendary confirmed on Wednesday, March 11 that the three actors are officially onboard its upcoming action flick 'The Great Wall', to be directed by Zhang Yimou.

It's official; Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal, and Willem Dafoe have been cast for the upcoming action flick "The Great Wall". They join previously announced cast which among others include notable Chinese actors Andy Lau, Jing Tian, Zhang Hanyu, Eddie Peng, Luhan, Lin Gengxin, Zheng Kai, Chen Xue Dong, Huang Xuan, and Wang Junkai. Newcomers Yu Xintian and Liu Qiong are on board for supporting roles.
"The Great Wall" is set to be helmed by Zhang Yimou from a script by Max Brooks. Its plot will revolve "around soldiers in search of gunpowder who happen upon the construction of the massive wall, and learn that its hurried construction isn't just to keep out the Mongols, but mystical creatures."
Being touted as the biggest production to ever shoot entirely in China, "The Great Wall" is planned to hit theaters sometime in 2016. Further details of the flick are expected to be announced soon.
