Lupita Nyong'o becomes a victim of theft. Police was called when the designer dress that the "12 Years a Slave" actress wore to the 87th annual Academy Awards over the weekend was missing from her room at the London West Hollywood hotel.

The actress reportedly left her room Wednesday morning, February 25 and when she returned, the gown was gone. It was a white Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein dress adorned with 6,000 Akoya pearls. A loan from CK, the item is estimated to be worth $150,000.

She was at the hotel with a large entourage that included friends, makeup, and hair stylist. Comments were not immediately available from the hotel. Detectives are still gathering evidence by reviewing surveillance video between 9 A.M. and 8 P.M. Tuesday.

Nyong'o hasn't issued statement either, but Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Officer John Mitchell confirmed the theft, "We got a call at about 11:30 last night from someone at the London Hotel about a high value dress that was stolen from a hotel room."
