Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for Emma Watson's upcoming film "Regression". It shows the actress scared as she talks to Ethan Hawke's character, Detective Bruce Kenner. In companion with the trailer, the studio also unleashed a poster which shows an old and haunted house. Besides, some pics of the film have surfaced online.

Written by Alejandro Amenabar, "Regression" is set in Minnesota back in 1990. It tells the story of Kenner as he investigates the case of Watson's Angela, who accuses her father of an unspeakable crime. The father then "unexpectedly and without recollection admits guilt" and with the help of renowned psychologist Dr. Raines he relives his memories. What they "discover unmasks a horrifying nationwide mystery."

The thriller film also stars the likes of David Dencik as Watson's father and David Thewlis as the physiologist. It is slated to hit U.S. theaters on August 28.
