Celebrity

The comedienne who just announced her exit from 'The View' takes a jab the 'Nightly News' anchor and makes a fun of herself in the process over her marital problem.

Rosie O'Donnell attended the Athena Film Festival for the screening of her standup special. In her first public appearance after announcing her split from wife Michelle Rounds and her departure from "The View", she cracked jokes about marital problem and current hot topic, Brian Williams.

"I don't know how you can have somebody embellish and have the trust eroded when they're delivering the news," she said of the NBC anchor during the Saturday night, February 7 event as quoted by New York Daily News. "But I hope that everyone in America wakes up to the fact that what we get as news is not often truth."

"Remember when Walter Cronkite was the most trusted man in the world?" the comedienne continued dissing the "Nightly News" anchor over his false war story. "Now we've got Brian f****** Williams saying, 'I discovered electricity!' " She later quipped, "Will that deflect from my divorce?"

"In this day and age, as Brian Williams knows, you can't claim something's true that's not true," she said before explaining her reason to go public with her marital problem. "You only have to go on Instagram. You can see she's not in the house with me, right? It's been since Thanksgiving. People are not idiots. I don't want to lie and fabricate."
