The widow of late actor Daniel McDonald broke silence after his ex Jennifer Aniston talked about a former boyfriend who "would have been the one" had he not died of cancer. Mujah Maraini-Melehi wrote in a now-deleted Facebook post, "Please respect our love and especially our Loss. The children lost their father. I lost my partner."

Maraini-Melehi was "upset that the media is exploiting Daniel's memory in connection to Jennifer Aniston." She added to Inside Edition, "Those of us who knew Daniel well can assure you that he would not have approved of all this uninvited attention due to his past relationship to Jennifer."

'Why now? I wonder," she went on. "After decades of stardom, she is media savvy enough to know that any casual comment she makes becomes front page tabloid news. Jennifer Aniston is Jennifer Aniston, and that means that anything that she says about her love life to any journalist, even someone as reputable as New York Times' Frank Bruni, will be later dissected and exploited."

"I am sorry that Jennifer did not realize the treasure that was Daniel when she had the chance, long before he and I met and long before he died. It pains me to read the headlines that allude to her losing him tragically when in fact she was not present during his long and difficult illness. That said perhaps Daniel's gift was to teach her how to love and appreciate Justin Theroux."

McDonald lost battle with cancer in 2007 at the age of 46. He is survived by two children from his marriage to Maraini-Melehi who recently remarried. "Daniel and Jennifer had a relationship over 20 years ago, when they were both still very young. She made a life choice, but so did he," she said.

"After Daniel died, I reached out to her to give her back all the photographs from the time they were together," she opened up. "I never got an answer back from her."
