A representative for the 'Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix' actor reveals the couple separated more than a year ago, adding that they 'have agreed to an amicable divorce.'

AceShowbiz - Gary Oldman and his wife Alexandra Edenborough are set to divorce. Gary confirmed the news in a statement issued through his spokesman Douglas Urbanski on Monday, January 12. Douglas said Gary and Alexandra separated over a year ago, adding that they "have agreed to an amicable divorce" and "remain on warm, friendly terms."

Gary said, "Alex and I had several great years together, and we shared a great love during that time; but there is big difference in our ages and ultimately that gap inevitably revealed different lifestyle interests. While I have been sad about this for over a year, I am grateful for the good times we did have, and we remain friends. Of course I wish Alex the best happiness in the future."

Earlier on the day, Radar Online reported that Alexandra filed for divorce from the "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" actor on January 9, citing irreconcilable differences. According to the court documents, the English jazz singer is seeking spousal support and wants Gary to pay her attorney's fees.

According to Douglas, the star of "The Dark Knight Rises" has not filed a response to Alexandra's divorce documents yet.

Before marrying Alexandra, Gary had been married and divorced for three times. The "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" actor was married to Lesley Manville, Uma Thurman and Donya Fiorentino.
