The 'Anaconda' hitmaker talks about the 'emotional roller coaster' she gets through after releasing her latest album and overcoming 'adversities.'

AceShowbiz - Nicki Minaj shows her wise and tough side in the first trailer for her new MTV documentary, "Nicki Minaj: My Time Again". "I did not know that this album would entail an emotional roller coaster," says the raptress who released her third studio album "The Pinkprint" last December. "No one could prepare for this business. Until you are in it, you really can't wrap your brain around it."

The trailer also gives a behind-the-scenes look at her preparation for the much-talked-about MTV VMA performance. During the rehearsal, a snake which would be used as a prop bit her dancer's arm, prompting her to ditch the snake for the actual performance. The video teases how she handles wardrobe malfunction and sees her spending time with family.

"When I'm faced with crazy adversities, I turn on a switch I don't even know I have sometimes," she further shares. "Every human needs to push themselves to the point of breaking sometimes. If you never break you never know how much pressure you can take." She also reveals that she had to steal bread to eat when she was a waitress.

The documentary will air on Sunday, January 18 at 10 P.M. ET/PT on MTV.
