The last season of the spy drama starring Piper Perabo hit a series low, sealing the fate of the show which was once a hit on the network.

AceShowbiz - "Covert Affairs" ended after five seasons. USA Network has decided not to renew the action drama series following the fifth and now last installment, which hit a series low of 1.1 million viewers in November and an average of about 1.5 million viewers.
The show starring Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham was once a hit on the cable network, debuting to 4.88 million viewers in 2010 and posting an average of 6.7 million viewers in its first season. The cancellation will leave fans disappointed as the fifth season ended with a cliffhanger in which Auggie contemplated about leaving the agency, and Annie was considering whether to accept Ryan's marriage proposal.
Back in December, executive producer Matt Corman said he was hoping for a sixth season. "For us, these characters and the actors we're working with are so infinitely talented that we think we could keep telling stories forever," he told TVLine. "Maybe we're delusional in that sense, but we just love this show so much. We don't like to think about it in terms of the end."
Another vet on USA, "White Collar", was recently also canceled. The network has apparently been making room for new series which have already been greenlit for this year, including "Dig", "Mr. Robot" and "Complications".
