Sarah Palin Fires Back at PETA Over Controversial Pictures of Her Son Stepping on Dog

The former Governor of Alaska accuses PETA of double standard, asking the group if they criticized President Obama for eating dog and Ellen DeGeneres for posting a picture similar to hers.

AceShowbiz - Sarah Palin reacts to the criticism over her Facebook pictures which showed son Trig using the family's dog Jill as a stepping tool to reach sink. PETA is apparently among those who slammed her, and the former Governor of Alaska calls the group hypocrite in response.

She also drags President Barack Obama into the controversy. "Dear PETA, Chill. At least Trig didn't eat the dog," she says. "Did you go as crazy when your heroic Man-of-Your-Lifetime, Barack Obama, revealed he actually enjoyed eating dead dog meat?" In a passage in his memoir "Dreams From My Father", the President did reveal about eating dog meat in Indonesia when he was a boy.

She claims PETA only criticizes people who don't openly support their cause. "Hey, by the way, remember your 'Woman of the Year,' Ellen DeGeneres? Did you get all wee-wee'd up when she posted this sweet picture? Hypocritical, much?" she blasts them, adding a link to a similar photo posted by the TV host showing a child stepping on a dog.

"Our pets, including Trig's best buddy Jill Hadassah, are loved, spoiled and cared for more than some people care for their fellow man whose politics may not mesh with nonsensical liberally failed ways or don't fit your flighty standards," she concludes. "Jill is a precious part of our world. So is Trig."

PETA is quick to respond to Palin's rant. "Palin's Facebook response shows us that she knows PETA about as well as she knows geography," they said to TMZ.
