"The Interview" receives good response from public after Sony Pictures Entertainment decided to screen the satirical film in select theaters. In Connecticut, the Seth Rogen and James Franco-starring comedy will be screened at two theaters, Hartford's Spotlight Theatres and Apple Cinemas in Waterbury.

As reported by The Associated Press, Hartford's Spotlight Theatres' manager Tyler Pulsifer said that moviegoers had been showing good response following the headline-making controversy surrounding the movie. "I'd be willing to bet we're going to sell out," he said. "People want to see it because they've been told not to." The theater has four showings on Christmas Day, and five showings each on Friday and Saturday.

Hollywood as well as President Obama previously expressed disappointment after Sony announced the movie would be pulled from theaters following a threat from hackers who called themselves Guardians of Peace. The studio then retracted their statement, adding that the movie focusing on two TV journalists who are sent to assassinate North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un would also be released online via Microsoft's Xbox Video, Google Play and Sony's official website starting on Wednesday.

In a statement, Sony's chairman Michael Lynton thanked partners who made the digital release possible. "I want to thank Google and Microsoft for helping make this a reality," he said.
