An attorney for the studio confirmed that the satirical movie would be eventually distributed although they were still exploring options.

AceShowbiz - The fight to get "The Interview" to public continues despite Sony Pictures' previous announcement that it won't hit theaters as scheduled this month. An attorney for the studio clarified on Sunday, December 21 via NBC's "Meet the Press" that "Sony only delayed this."

"Sony has been fighting to get this picture distributed. It will be distributed," David Boies said. "How it's going to be distributed, I don't think anybody knows quite yet, but it's going to be distributed." It sounded different than Sony's announcement last Wednesday when the studio said it had "no further release plans for the film."

Giving the same tone is the studio's chief executive Michael Lynton, who said that they had "not caved" to hackers and confirmed that efforts were underway to let audience watch the film legally. "We would still like the public to see this movie, absolutely. There are a number of options open to us," he told CNN.

Lynton would not rule out the possibility of having it on YouTube. "That's certainly an option and certainly one thing we will consider," he said, adding, "There has not been one major video on-demand distributor, one major e-commerce site that has stepped forward and said it is willing to distribute this movie for us. We don't have that direct interface with the American public and need an intermediary to do to that."

However, Sony denied the NY Post report that "The Interview" would be released for free via Crackle. "The Post story isn't accurate, and Sony is still exploring options for distribution," a spokesman said.

"The Interview", a satirical movie about the assassination attempt on North Korean Kim Jong-Un, was scheduled for theatrical release on Christmas. Sony pulled out the movie when no theater chains wanted to screen the film. President Obama said on Friday that Sony made a mistake by canceling the release.
